Webcast: Crisis communication challenges following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident

On 9 May 2012, Mrs. Carmen Martínez Ten, Chair of the Spanish Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN), Mr. Luis E. Echávarri, Director-General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD/NEA) and Mr. Pablo Matos, President of the Industry, Energy and Tourism Commission of the Spanish Parliament will launch the International Workshop on Crisis Communication: Facing the Challenges organised by the OECD/NEA and hosted by the CSN in Madrid, Spain.

This workshop brings together senior officials from nuclear regulatory organisations and key stakeholders from 25 countries and 7 international organisations. The objective of the workshop is to share best practices and to improve crisis communication based on lessons learnt from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. Participants will also identify emerging issues in nuclear regulatory organisation communication and will propose new directions for crisis communication policy and practices.
